I rarely do these things anymore, but I'd rather do this than what I'm supposed to be doing, so, yeeeaaa... Here it goes.

Eek, sorry guys... I know I haven't been updating for the past... very long time. But now a class is "forcing" me to write an entry on Blogger once a week, so I probably won't write here for a while-- and now I have a decent reason, teehee (I'll still check out other ppls ljs XD ) I'm really excited about this project, though!
日本語をはなしましょう!☆
Unfortunately... most of the entries won't be in English.. ^^;;; But some pics and videos might be of interest. (or not haha)
I hope all of you are doing well!
I'm doing pretty well on my New Year's Resolutions thingies, yays.
Oh! I really like all my classes! Here's the final list (I switched about 3902848 times before I got the "perfect" schedule):
Astronomy Observation: Oooo, a night class. It's so romantical!
Astronomy, Life Beyond Earth: Yes, I am going to be an astronomy minor. This class is slightly more boring than I anticipated, but the book is fascinating (:
Japanese: This class makes me incredibly happy at the same time that it scares the crap outta me.
Tennis: Mmm, hopefully will be easy "A" (well... "pass") and keep me from being too lazy.
Sociology, Death and Dying: Promises to be interesting as well. The professor is so cool hehe. The only thing I don't look forward to is.... it being at 8am! To think I got up at 6 in highschool...
Psychology 101: Hopefully an easy class. We are required to participate in research for grad students or something. That should be....fun?
I'm gonna be back home the 3rd weekend of February (just to warn you to hide if you're gonna be in town haha)
P.S. Snow!!!! Please snow more!!! (and not get icky hehe)

Like the subject says... and please don't spoil any for me, though you can give your opinion ^^b Oh, and suggestions too. I have a feeling this list will get longer ...
Edit: Now they are in the order that I wanna see them (ummm sort of) and I added a few ! It was hard to put them in order...
The ones in red means I've now watched it... and then I give it thumbs up or thumbs down, hehe.
And just so I don't have to write a whole new entry, here are movies I never want to see again. Like... ever. (ie... they were AWFUL.) These are the movies they will show me if I go to hell :/

I'm in college. And I like my classes! Haha.
PHIL Ancient Ethics: lots of reading, but w/e... we get to talk about Plato, Aristole.. all those awesome Greek fellows.
JAPN Japanese 101: OMG.. too much memorizing. But taking it makes me seem cool :P
ASTRO Sky and Solar System: Large class-- thus far we've spent most of the classes looking at pretty pictures of the universe... easy enough?
USEM Other Worlds and Fantastic Beings: I love fantasy, I love reading, I'm a nerd... what more can I say?
C S Intro to Computer Science 101: My largest class... a little over 200? Also have just been going over easy stuff I already know; but will pick up eventually, I'm assuming.
I think that's it. The most difficult by far is Japanese, but I think I can keep up.
Also... been attending club meetings! So far they all seem great, but I don't wanna go overload T_T
Fencing: Sooo psyched about this! It seems like LOTS of fun and might keep me in a somewhat reasonable shape. Definitely gotta try it out.
Bridge Club: This game is damn confusing, but all the people there were extremely nice and it was a great way to unwind after Monday during the day.
Bhakti-Yoga: Isn't like the yoga you're thinking about-- it's more spiritual, basically no stretches, etc. Made me happy/relaxed ^_^ Plus, the club sponsorers who host the meetings at their house are incredibly kind, "zen" people.
I kinda also wanna see what anime club, PsiPhi (scifi) club, Ultimate Frisbee Club, and Students for Creative Anachronism are all about, but it'll be insanely difficult choosing which to attend regularly!
My 1st year goal: to fall asleep in as many places at UVA as possible (excluding other ppls beds, of course)
Progress thus far:
Almost every night*My own bed in Courtenay with the kiwi/aqua colored sheets
8/22/06*Seat in Old Cabell Hall during a meeting
8/24/06*Couch in dorm suite area
8/25/06*Study desk at Clemons Library, second floor (quiet/group study floor)
8/29/06*Study desk with the words "I'M BORED (and hate studying)" scribbled on it at Clemons Library, second floor
8/29/06*Couch across from the piano in Newcomb Hall Ballroom (I almost missed my USem)
8/30/06*Windowsill on 5th floor of Cabell Hall
My next stop I'm thinking is first floor of O-Hill right after breakfast. I was also thinking of making a picture journal to document my progress. We'll see.

3. I'll pick a color that I associate with you.
4. I'll tell you something I like about you.
5. I'll tell you my first/clearest memory of you.
6. I'll tell you what animal you remind me of.
7. I'll ask you something I've always wanted to ask you.
8. If I do this for you, you must post this on yours.

My tentative schedule:
Intro to Computer Science
Concepts of Physics (I'm going to cry)
Other Worlds & Fantastic Beings
First Year Japanese
Intro to Hinduism
I'm huge on planning... so I looked up the courses that seemed not-too-hard, but also highly rated and interesting (via Course Forum and the COD).
After five years, I'm a little tired of Latin (plus, the AP scores weren't so hot) and wanna try something totally different... might try Arabic or Korean if Japanese doesn't work out schedule-wise.
Definitely wanted to take Computer Science and if I like it, I'll continue w/ that, if not, I'll take intro to Psychology (another thing in which I'm interested).
Sadly, I can't do marching band... gonna be in Ohio for band camp :/ Maybe it'll be nice trying something new?
With my luck, none of this schedule will work out ): (just like my yard sale today, sigh)
I always get excruciatingly excited over something, then... it either doesn't happen or turns out to be a drag. It has gotta stop T_T
As for senior year, it is hardly in my memory (fortunately). I think I've changed a lot, at least inside if not visibly outside (hard for me to judge-- does it seem thus?). Yea, I look forward to college. With apprehension, though also enthusiasm. Great summer to all ^^

Today was an epic day indeed.
Rei taught me how not to eat wasabe. And it hurt.
I started a paper mache mask.
I finished two books.
I joined /the/ Facebook.
I just heard the Dragostea Din Tei song (aka NumaNuma song) on the radio.
And I probably made myself sound a little conceited by starting most of my sentences with the pronoun "I".
Cheers!

I feel ill. And ungrateful; Randy bought me a lovely dinner of Japanese food yesterday (shrimp!)... and my tummy rejected a deal of it this morning. I think I could've gone to school, but my mom was just like "Yea, how 'bout you just take the weekend off." and I was/am more than happy to oblige. School is such a drag.
On a lighter note, '06 definitely wins the best film award in AP Latin. It's really super totally awesome. Sorry '07 (: Now I wanna make millions of movies ^^
On the school front, I'm in the running for a full scholarship to Mary Washington. High school is uninteresting to me now (except for my friends, boyfriend, and sometimes Latin class) and I'm torn as to where I wish to attend college. After visiting Teresa last Sunday at UVA, that school has definitely taken a high spot on my list (as long as nothing (ie kidnapping van) breaks down if I attend)
I think I'll go now; take another nap... my stomach isn't behaving :/
(P.S. I got nudged by Karen! How neato is that?! :D )

During the State of the Union Address, when President Bush gave his spiel about the Constitution giving him the authority to conduct a "terrorist surveillance program" and the part about giving him line-item veto... and then, on top of that, many of the guests proceeded to applaud, I couldn't help thinking:
"So this is how liberty dies. With thunderous applause."
Anyway... other than that, the speech seemed "warm and fuzzy"... I can't really remember much of it, actually. Except for the part where the Democrats applauded the fact that Bush's S.S. thingy didn't pass.
Oh yea... and what was up with the thing about human-animal hybrids? Part of me was like "Why haven't I heard of this before?" and part of me was like "I love Redwall and Martin the Warrior/KtarlKtarls are kewl!" And Thundercats... which member of the Thundercats is the most annoying?... that's right... the one that DOESN'T look like a human-animal hybrid. Great... now I sound like I'm advocating hybrids :/
The end. I don't like talking politics.
Oh-six is totally going to kill in that Latin project.

The big news today was my interview with Mr. Bell, a Duke alumnus.
I think it went nicely; he had a relaxed manner that made me go from I'm-gonna-pass-out nervousness to only-slightly-lightheaded-sweaty-and-twi tchy nervousness.
He asked a whole lot of questions about "blogging" and my livejournal... in fact, he could be reading this /right at this moment/. Or possibly Duke Admissions people too. Then Duke will know my secret: what a completely mundane, "geeky" person I am. Oh well. At least they might see the very adorable pictures of birdybirdy (:
I still can't think of a satisfactory answer to a question Mr. Bell asked:
"What is the appeal to blogging as opposed to e-mail (or something else)?"
Maybe it makes me feel important in some way, that anyone might take time out of his/her life to look at this, even some person I hardly know.
Or that I have nothing better to do? ^-^

Even Guild Wars had "Winterday"... it was pretty. (imma dork)
I'm going to Ohio tomorrow, fun.
DDR party was fun; thanks so much to all those who brought equipment, etc...
The glazed-over look Kevin got while watching Daniel, David, and Randy play was priceless.
Yes, and maybe I could host another one (invite same people?), if you guys wish before break is over.
Be back in a week... Have a lovely remainder-of-December.

School is about half way over. Sigh. I'm going to Ohio soon, so I can't do much over break with peoples... (I'm not even going to the part of OH with those Trans-Siberian Orchestra lights... :/ ) but there is supposedly a "DDR party" at my house on Saturday (Cheryn told me about it...?) The last day of school was fun and unproductive. I spent 6+ hour at the library today; Done with over 50 NHS hours! Yay!
Almost the new year... "I hope it's a good one"

It was a delightfully rugged experience!! Not really. It was okay, especially in the morning when there was light. The only thing to do last night was sleep or read by flashlight or listen to radio. (I would've played with birdy, but he was scared, so he kept biting me; and I would've played piano... but my sister would not have it -_- )
But it was kinda freaky when the lights went out because all the neighborhood was "blinking." It reminded me of the movie War of the Worlds... even the sky was red and ominous.
We got the fire going.... and I even brushed up on my photojournalistic skills! (of which I have none)
( Photo Journalism! )
But now my beloved internet has returned and all is well.
PS The News and Advance just called asking for my daddy! We're famous! Too bad he wasn't home :/

My entire break spent playing Guild Wars. And eating. And sleeping. And hanging out with my family and Rei (sometimes at the same time... wow!) I didn't even do homework until 5:30am of today (Monday). Best five days I've had this year, probably.
I saw Harry Potter yet again today, this time with Randy. It was just as good the second time around, but still won't win out over my everlasting love for Lord of the Rings. Before the movie, Randy and I ate at Pueblo Viejo. Fried icecream is delicious, even if Rei doesn't like it. And we listened to his adorable cassette tape while driving. I didn't understand the words, but sometimes tried to sing along...?
What a lovely day. Even if it did rain.
Attempting to memorize that Chocobo song on piano.
The Chronicles of Narnia are extremely wonderful and whimsical. Many thanks to Laura.
I discovered another kiwi bird artist at the library! It's becoming a fad, I hope?
I still really want to see Corpse Bride. With you, Cheryn... maybe others (: We could make out during the movie. I can't wait!! Seeing movies alone makes me sad.
Doom was a bad movie. "End of story."
Ever since Mr. Templeton told us about how today's loud noises are destroying my ears, I keep thinking about loud things, how many decibels they are and how I'm going to go deaf at 20. ):
Oh, yea, and for people who keep asking when I'm going to work next: I quit. ^^
I'm proud of myself in Calculus! But not so much in Physics.
Randy still wants me to become good at tennis, but I'm about as coordinated as a sea sponge.
Things are looking up; I just need to take a deep breath and tell myself everything is gonna be alright.
And now I'm quite tired... so shower and sleep... and homework? Maybe ^-~

It's a fact. I love Halloween.
If only my camera were working, I'd put pictures up! But the majority of you probably saw or have seen my costume anyway... I've been the same thing ever since seventh grade-- a princess-y person with feather mask.
Oh, except last year... when I was Morpheus.
We got loads of candy. What could be better than trick-or-treating in one's senior year?
I watched StarWars III: Revenge of the Sith for the 21049932th time (more like 5th time, hm) at Kevin's house. It was loads of fun. I love everyone.
Last marching band performance EVER on Friday. It was kind of sad. I messed up about 500 times... we hadn't practiced for two weeks. What was to be expected? Sigh. It was worth it for senior night though... I think?
Ohhh.... and I'm going to learn to play bassoon from Joel! And maybe I will take piano lessons soon! Even if I fail physics... things are getting better. And I cried when I saw Titanic for the first time last week. It was sad. Don't laugh.
And I memorized the entire Pokemon theme song. You people are lucky to have such a talented friend.

I really shouldn't be updating. I still have homework. Barf. This year is promising to cut deeply into my social life time (something I never thought I'd have 'til I came to high school) -_- Plus... I just feel tired a lot. Must... start... year... well!
All of my teachers are pretty good-- most I already knew, though. I might like math this year-- we have cool people in the class and a promising teacher. It could get worst, maybe?
I am seriously missing 10th grade marching band, though. It's not the same.
Lunch is very nice so far (even though the lunch ladies totally screwed up on the first day-- feh).
Recently I've been very sociable with birdy-- he deserves more love. Gabriel now accompanies me to my room for homework; he's distracting, but cute ^-^
As long as I try to keep a positive, optimistic attitude, life will be fine (That's what Psychology Today said, at least)
There's no way I will have a bad senior year.

I, for one, am glad full day band camp is over. That means I can sit here and update my "LJ". Hi.
Let's see... I visited that guidance thingy about colleges, but still have yet to do the whole "one on one" thing with counselor. I did get my parking space assignment, though! Space number 11. Nice. But it doesn't really matter, since I'm not going to use it (no car).
I'm THIS close to finishing my government homework. Then I'm going to read the spark notes for all my English books, check over my math homework, and call it a summer.
As of tomorrow (if I include registration day volunteering), I'll have about 45 volunteer hours. "Hotness."
There's at least one more college I wish to visit before doing applications, and that is: University of Maryland: College Park. It seems very large, but nice-- I've kind of decided I would like to be close to DC if possible. I'm kind of looking forward to doing applications-- filling out forms is fun.
Maybe sometime later today I'll think of another thing with which to bore those who chance to look here.
Oh, yea... I'm probably not going to die of Lyme Disease

I've had a busy week. I can't remember it, though. Band camp has taken up a buttload of my time as well as work. I miss Teresa! As for this week, it has gone very well, though it's been soso hot! Everybody is whining about the heat and that we are being pushed "too hard." I agree the sun is killer (take a look at my face and the back of my legs) and it is fun/thereputic to complain, but seriously... I think we've had it worst. Still, Mr. Hand is quite a change from Mr. Q. *shrug* The music is a'ight. I fully expect Mr. Palladino to start foaming at the mouth when he hears us play "Carmina Burana." Anyway... The first exotic place we ate was behind the water fountain, then in the props loft (where we played "monkey"...) Then... The Peter's house (where my eye was repeatedly injured; which is okay, since depth perception is overrated.) And today at the Deli and Bakery.
Food is good.
Randy came over on Wednesday where there was that crazy storm and helped try to set up the computer we just got back from the shop.
Get this: I had an appointment Aug. 11 at 2pm with guidance for senior planning... and I just got the letter today-- the envelope was post-marked for yesterday (the 11th). How is that for planning?
Speaking of guidance, MY SCHEDULE IS DONE. I hope it is as I predicted. But with my luck, it'll suck. Oh well. I'll just chill this weekend, do some gov't homework, whatever. Whoopee-- can't wait for school.
